Have your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) handy, along with any other information that can help identify your car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a id=\"cover\"><h2 style=\"margin-bottom:0px;\">Does your insurance cover a stolen car?<\/h2><\/a>\n\n\n\n<p>Your car insurance <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plymouthrock.com\/resources\/does-insurance-cover-a-stolen-car\">covers a stolen car<\/a> if you have comprehensive coverage. This coverage helps pay for damages not caused by a collision, including theft. It\u2019s not mandatory, but may be required by lenders if you financed or leased your vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a id=\"claim\"><h2 style=\"margin-bottom:0px;\">How to file a claim<\/h2><\/a>\n\n\n\n<p>Having your car stolen is stressful enough; filing your claim shouldn\u2019t be. We\u2019ll assign you a friendly personal representative to walk you through your policy coverage and answer any questions you may have.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once your claim is filed, our adjusters will investigate your claim and review your policy coverage. Track the status of your claim online, 24\/7. View and access your claim representative\u2019s contact information, payments we\u2019ve issued and claim forms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check with police for updates on your vehicle\u2019s status.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have an outstanding loan or lease, we will notify any financial lenders.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<a id=\"found\"><h2 style=\"margin-bottom:0px;\">What happens when your car is stolen then found?<\/h2><\/a>\n\n\n\n<p>Once your claim is filed, we\u2019ll work with law enforcement to track down your vehicle. If we can recover it, you\u2019ll get your vehicle back along with a settlement offer to repair any damages it may have sustained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your vehicle cannot be recovered, or if it has been recovered with enough damage, it will be considered a total loss.
