Typical rideshare-provided insurance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To start, there are three periods of rideshare driving:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. You\u2019ve activated the rideshare app and are waiting for someone to request a ride.<\/li>
  2. The app has matched you with a passenger and you head to pick them up.<\/li>
  3. You\u2019re passenger gets in and you\u2019re off!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Rideshare companies (their technical name is \u201ctransportation network companies\u201d or TNCs) generally provide low-limit coverage during the first period.     The coverage TNCs provide for periods 2 and 3 is usually broader than in period 1.
